For those of you who are a little nervous about coming to youth group for your first time {or maybe 2nd}, this might help. MYF regular meetings usually last from 6pm-8pm on Sunday evenings. They usually consists of things: fun time, business,
music, lame-games, bible study, and a snack.
Fun time is where we all sit around and talk about almost everything and anything. We talk about school, friends, relationships, movies. It's like hanging out with a bunch of your friends with and added bonus, they are Christians!
This is also the time when we eat some great snacks, pop, and other good food!
If you know us... you know we like to eat! :-)
Business time is when Dave tells us all what is going to be happening in the upcoming weeks. He tells us what events we are going to and how
our Compassion International child is doing.
Next is the game/music time. Some times we sing along to some cool praise
songs or we play a Lame-Game. Despite the name, it's really not that lame, usually. We play games with marshmallows {fluffy bunny}, duct tape, cool whip, straws... just about anything you can think of.
Now it's bible study time. One of our youth leaders {Dave, Joe, Trent, Gerry, Christine} does a little mini lesson to help equip us for the real world as Christians. It's hard sometimes to live in the world as a Christian but this time helps!
Then as we leave we usually just goof around and grab leftover snacks. Again...
we would never leave food uneaten. Well, that's about it. Please don't be afraid to join us!
We don't bite... well, not all of us. :-P
